The Afghanistan International Chamber of Commerce
A National business federation for the twenty-first century
Afghanistan International Chamber of Commerce was created by a core group of Afghanistan’s business associations. The associations formed the AICC in order to serve as a voice for Afghanistan’s business community and to assist in the creation of a business association network. This network of associations, which will eventually include national, provincial and local organizations, will provide Afghanistan’s private sector companies and international investors with the support they need to achieve success. AICC will focus on public policy advocacy, investment and trade promotion, technical assistance and membership services in order to address the changing needs of the private sector.
The vision for AICC came from the Afghan American Chamber of Commerce, the Afghanistan Traders and Industrialists Center, the Afghanistan Freight Haulers Association, the Afghanistan Transportation Association and the Afghanistan Construction Association.
While these organizations formed AICC’s foundation, new associations and companies are joining daily, which is continually increasing AICC’s capacity. With technical assistance from the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), AICC will continue to grow and expand. Within three years, it will be a strong, dynamic, and sustainable cornerstone for economic growth by unifying the voice of business. AICC will work in collaboration with government in a partnership to change the economic future of Afghanistan.
